Destiny

Hey everyone, my name is Destiny Clark and I’m a second year at UCLA studying Physiology and Public Health. Despite having an interest in medicine, literature/languages, travel and sports, I believe in the power of education and how it comes to reform those it touches, because school is where our greatness first comes to develop and thrive.

I am looking forward to helping students who deserve an education on becoming financially literate, so that they can build their futures and be prepared for college/real world.

Mattie

Hello! I’m a third year student at Georgia Tech studying computational media, a bridge between computer science and media technology. I enjoy spending time with others, going on drives, and exploring the food, art, and nature that’s around.

I’ve been lucky to be working with Building Blocks for Kids to address the need for equally available financial literacy and career development information. I love education and learning, so I have found Building Blocks exciting and worthwhile.

Shashine

Hey! My name is Shashine Nnachetam and I’m a rising sophomore at UCSB studying Physiology. I am currently a summer intern at Building Blocks for Kids and am interested in helping kids, that like me, have no initial background regarding financial literacy. I find it important that students have the resources available to grow in every aspect as early as possible. At Building Blocks, I am in charge of posting on social media (Twitter and LinkedIn) and I also send email to reach out to new contacts. Besides Building Blocks, I am also interested in sports, gaming, and media as a whole.

Therese

Hey everyone! I’m a second year student at UC Berkeley studying Economics. Some of my hobbies include reading, art, and game design. Outside of school, I enjoy doing public service and working with elementary school students to improve their literacy skills. Interning at Building Blocks for Kids has been a great pleasure as I am passionate about education, and I know that this organization is filling a need in students’ curriculum that hasn’t been properly addressed yet.

Estefania Landeros

Hello! I am a fourth year student at California Lutheran University studying sociology and spanish with a minor in public health. I enjoy traveling to different places, trying new foods, reading, and painting. Interning at Building Blocks for Kids has opened my eyes at the lack of a curriculum for financial literacy at the schools. With Building Blocks for Kids I am able to make an impact on students and be able to give them a better opportunity for their future by reaching them financial literacy.

Hello, my name is Victor and I am currently a freshman at California Lutheran University and I will be majoring in Business Management with a minor in Sports Management. I hope to use my degree to get a job in the field of the professional soccer industry as I aspire to be part of a professional soccer team one day in the management level. Furthermore, I am a current intern for Building Blocks for Kids and plan to get involved in the financial sector of fundraising and raising awareness to many undermined minorities who are not fortunate enough to get proper education. I look forward to be a part of this team to make sure everyone gets the equal chance to proper education and financial literacy and at the same time expanding my knowledge on what it is like to be apart of an aspiring organization.

Wendy

Hi! My name is Wendy and I am an undergraduate student at California Lutheran University. I began my journey with Building Blocks for Kids when I was in high school as a student participating in the program. Now I’m interning to help deliver this amazing program to other high school classrooms. I’ve learned so many useful skills through this program that I know would benefit other students as well. Outside of Building Blocks, I am also an intern at a local hospital. When I’m not helping out at the hospital or with Building Blocks you can catch me at the gym, hanging out with friends, or reading!

I am currently a 3rd year majoring in Legal Studies and minoring in Public Policy at UC Berkeley. Some of my interests include: API empowerment, specifically from low-income families, financial literacy to encourage youth to gain a financial foundation, and humanist or empirical perspectives of law and legality. Working with Building Blocks for Kids so far has been an eye-opening experience, allowing me to directly provide financial literacy and a career based education to students!

Evelyn Santa Rosa

Hello! I am a first-year college student at California Lutheran University. I am a double major in Education and Spanish, hoping to become an elementary teacher and serve in underrepresented and underprivileged schools. Also, I am a current intern for Building Blocks for Kids and plan to teach students about the foundations of financial literacy. A little bit about me, I love to play sports, try new foods, go on long drives, explore the outdoors, and listen to different kinds of music. I look forward to being a member of this program and working with students to provide insight on financial literacy and career education to motivate and encourage potential futures!

Hi, my name is Ryan Dominguez. I am currently a freshman at California Lutheran University, I am studying sports management. I joined BBFK to help educate high school students on financial literacy and the opportunities within college. In being a part of this program I aspire to make a change to how modern education is perceived. The systems we have in place are old and should be replaced to keep up with our evolving youth. I enjoy volunteering at my former elementary school when I am not busy.
